Description:

Yell tells the compelling story of Japanese composer Yuichi, born in Fukushima in 1909 as the heir to a family dry goods business. Initially considered a dreamer lacking practical traits, Yuichi's life changed forever when he discovered music, developing his composing talent through self-study. A secret entry into an overseas songwriting competition proved pivotal, earning him runner-up and introducing him to an aspiring singer from Toyohashi. Despite the long distance, they married and moved to Tokyo, where their musical partnership blossomed, producing numerous hit songs amidst various challenges. However, the onset of war forced Yuichi to compose military songs, causing him deep pain as he witnessed young men die to his melodies. After the war, with the country in chaos, the couple dedicated themselves to crafting a new era of music, using its power to heal and inspire a wounded nation's recovery.
