In the gripping crime drama Utenai Keikan, Inspector Shibasaki Reiji is a rising star within the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department. Known as an elite candidate, Reiji is a devoted family man who is also willing to intimidate colleagues to advance his career. However, his life takes a drastic turn when he receives a phone call from his boss, Nakata, instructing him to allow Kazuhiko Kido, a depressed subordinate, to participate in shooting training. Tragically, Kazuhiko uses the handgun to commit suicide shortly after. When questioned, Nakata denies ever making the phone call, leaving Reiji to take the blame and suffer a demotion to a local police precinct. Realizing he is the victim of a calculated setup, the disgraced inspector refuses to back down. Reiji devises a cunning plan to expose the conspiracy, uncover the identity of the mysterious caller, and fight his way back to the elite police career track.
