Newcomer Amaya Miyuki joins the JAMSTEC crew, driven by a dream to pilot the Shinkai 6500 deep-sea submersible, following in her late father's footsteps. He was a brilliant JAMSTEC pilot and researcher who dedicated his life to unraveling the "abyssopelagic universe" but died without fulfilling his ambition. Miyuki, chosen as Japan's first female pilot for an upcoming voyage, is determined to explore the deep sea her father spoke of. However, a startling discovery before her journey alters her perception: a hidden tape from her father's locker. The shocking video reveals enormous, unknown objects, the sheer terror of stranded pilots, and her father's final moments. Confronted with this terrifying reality, vastly different from the beautiful deep sea she envisioned, Miyuki is consumed by intense fear. Now, she must descend into the abyss, uncertain if she will ever return safely from its dark depths.
