Description:

The action thriller Typhoon follows Sin (played by Jang Dong Gun, star of Friend), a North Korean defector driven by a dark past. As a child, Sin and his family tried to escape to the South, but a devastating betrayal led to the tragic deaths of his parents. Consumed by a desire for genocidal revenge, Sin allies with a group of Thai pirates. Together, they hijack a U.S. ship loaded with nuclear devices secretly manufactured in Taiwan.

To stop this catastrophic threat, naval officer Kang Se Jong (played by Lee Jeong Jae, star of Il Mare) is sent to pursue him. Kang Se Jong is determined to bring the dangerous fugitive to justice. However, as the high-stakes chase unfolds, the officer uncovers the tragic truth behind Sin's motives. This revelation forces Kang Se Jong to grapple with complex emotions, gradually coming to understand and even sympathize with his foe in this gripping game of cat and mouse.
