Under The Veil is a captivating drama told through three separate folklore stories exploring love, lust, vanity, greed, and selfishness. The first tale, Changing Pins, follows fraternal twins who fall in love with different men possessing the same appearance. The older male twin embarks on a homosexual affair with a Prince of the Liao Kingdom, while his sister falls for a poor scholar. In Judge Lu, another poor scholar struggles with temptation when he begins an affair with a courtesan who bears a striking resemblance to his wife. Lastly, Chasing Fish presents a mystical romance where a scholar becomes the sole object of affection for both a fish spirit and a human girl with the face. Together, these three stories in Under The Veil offer a deep, dramatic look into the complexities of human desire, making this folklore anthology a compelling watch.
