Tropical Fish is a delightful comedy centered on Achiang, a junior high student under immense pressure to pass his senior high entrance examination. Struggling academically and frequently disciplined by his disappointed father and strict teacher, Achiang escapes into a rich fantasy world. Since childhood, he has imagined himself as the superhero King Saloman, locked in battle with his rival, the OneThousandYearOld Golden Shark. This vivid daydreaming increasingly intertwines with his reality, generating surreal humor. In a particularly amusing turn of events, Achiang, envisioning himself as King Saloman, inadvertently gets kidnapped by two gangsters. He had intended to rescue a little boy, Daonan, who was the kidnappers' original target. Unfortunately for the criminals, Daonan's stepfather rejects his return, making Achiang their unexpected and only source of potential ransom money.
