The movie The Samurai That Night follows the tragic story of Kenichi Nakamura, played by Masato Sakai, who runs a small ironworks. Since losing his wife Maki in a devastating hit and run car accident five years ago, Kenichi has been living a mundane and empty existence. Meanwhile, Kijima, played by Takayuki Yamada, the man who committed the fatal hit and run, finishes his prison term and is released. Soon after his release, a threatening letter arrives for Kijima, hinting at an impending reckoning. Although those close to Kenichi try to stop him from throwing his life away, he remains consumed by grief and anger. On the anniversary of Maki's death, these two broken men finally meet to confront each other. The Samurai That Night delivers an intense exploration of grief, revenge, and redemption as two opposing paths collide in a powerful climax.
