Description:

Set on the eve of the founding of the Joseon Dynasty, the thrilling action-adventure film The Pirates follows a chaotic hunt on the high seas. When a giant whale swallows the Emperor's Seal of State, which was being brought to Joseon by envoys from China, a massive reward is offered for its safe return. Eager to claim the fortune, Jang Sa Jung leads his group of wild mountain bandits out to sea to hunt down the elusive whale. However, the landlubbers quickly find themselves in deep water when they clash with Yeo Wol, a formidable female captain of pirates with her own crew and agenda. As the bandits and pirates collide in a race against time, an unexpected adventure unfolds filled with dangerous obstacles, fierce battles, and maritime chaos.
