Description:

The Nikaidos' Fall delves into the critical juncture facing the Nikaido family. Tatsuya Nikaido, a middle-aged divorcee and head of an agricultural company, is thrust into a desperate quest to save his family name and ancestral line following the tragic death of his only son. As the sole remaining male, Tatsuya feels immense pressure, while his daughter Yuko, despite her resistance to traditional thought, carries a deep sense of responsibility. Their only options are stark: Tatsuya must remarry and produce a male heir, or Yuko must find a husband willing to adopt the family surname as a mukoyoshi. The heartbreaking complication arises as both Tatsuya and Yuko are already in love with partners unsuitable for these conditions, forcing them into an agonizing struggle between familial duty and personal affection. Meanwhile, their despairing and sickly mother takes indirect actions to secure the family's future, inadvertently intensifying the emotional strain on Tatsuya and Yuko as they confront their impossible choices.
