The Map Against The World is a powerful historical drama set in a time when maps were kept away from the public. Determined to change this, cartographer Gosanja Kim Jeongho sets out to walk the entire Korean peninsula. His dream is to create the Daedongyeojido, the Great Map of the East Land, to offer an accurate and accessible guide for ordinary people. Driven by this obsession, he works tirelessly on woodblock printing templates, ignoring those who call him crazy. However, his quest demands a painful personal sacrifice, as he has practically forgotten his daughter, Kim Sun Shil, who has grown to sixteen years old in his absence. Things take a dangerous turn when Daewongun, the King's father, plots to steal the map to gain the upper hand in a fierce power struggle against the house of Kim of Andong.
