In the mystery thriller film The File, news anchor Soogyeong experiences a shocking reunion when she unexpectedly runs into her childhood friend, Misoo. Years ago, during their teenage years, a fateful trip to the baseball park ended with Misoo disappearing without a trace, leaving Soogyeong with only painful memories of her lost friend. Now, Misoo has suddenly returned, but the once lively young girl has transformed into someone completely different. As Misoo begins spending time with Soogyeong and her boyfriend, Dongmin, her increasingly strange attitude starts to deeply worry Soogyeong. Troubled by her friend's bizarre behavior, Soogyeong begins to push herself away. However, her anxiety only grows as she observes a disturbing closeness developing between Misoo and Dongmin, sparking a tense psychological conflict.
