The Battleship Island (2017)

Description:

During the Japanese occupation of Korea in 1944, about 400 Koreans are lured to Hashima island, nicknamed The Battleship Island, with false promises of high wages. Upon arrival, they realize they have been trapped in an isolated hell of forced slave labor. Among the workers are Lee, a jazz bandmaster, his daughter Choi, a tough thug, and Mallyeon. As the Pacific War nears its end and the U.S. launches a massive counterattack, Park, a Korean independence activist, arrives on a secret mission to rescue a spiritual leader. However, Park uncovers a dark Japanese plot to blow up the island to destroy all evidence of their awful treatment of the Korean workers. To survive, Park conspires with Lee and the others to execute a dangerous mass escape of all 400 Koreans before the island is destroyed.
