Adapted from the novel Suddenly This Summer by Ming Qian Yu Hou, the coming-of-age drama Suddenly This Summer follows He Luo, an underachieving sports student. Tired of being criticized for her poor grades, He Luo makes a bold promise to get into Hua Qing, the top university in the country. To achieve this impossible goal, she teams up with her brilliant classmate, Zhang Yuan. Through intense preparation for the gaokao, He Luo dramatically improves her scores, surprising everyone.
