Sono Otoko, Ishiki Takai-Kei is an engaging workplace drama centering on Tsubokura Haruko, a division manager at Saotome Accounting Software. Approaching thirty-five, Haruko feels gloomy about her highly stable life and her impending marriage to her colleague, Ninomiya Takashi. Her routine is disrupted when company president Saotome Ranko hires Ichijo Joe, a student who openly criticized their products. Joe possesses excessively high self-esteem, constantly overselling his skills and background despite having no actual ability. Assigned to Haruko's section, the pretentious newcomer becomes her responsibility. As Haruko reluctantly mentors Joe, his inflated ego and incompetence clash with her structured world, forcing her to confront her own doubts about her career and future.
