Shizumanu Taiyo (The Never-Setting Sun) is a gripping corporate drama centered on Hajime Onchi, a dedicated labor union leader at the national airline NAL. Alongside vice committee head Shiro Gyoten, Hajime fights management to demand better working conditions and prevent potential fatal disasters. However, Hajime is demoted and exiled abroad for putting safety first, while Shiro betrays the union to join management and advance his career. When a tragic NAL airplane crash occurs, Hajime returns to Japan to face the grieving families. In a bid to resurrect the airline, the government appoints Masayuki Kunimi as the new president of NAL. Kunimi tasks Hajime with investigating the widespread corruption within the company. This quest for justice sets Hajime on a direct collision course with his former ally Shiro Gyoten, who will stop at nothing to block the investigation.
