Description:

Shining Boy & Little Randy is an inspiring drama about Tetsu Susumu, an introspective teenager living on a struggling Hokkaido animal ranch run by his feisty mother Saori and his stepfather. Harassed by classmates, Tetsu finds his true calling when Saori buys an elephant named Mickey. Tetsu discovers a unique gift for communicating with the giant beast, but training their second elephant, Little Randy, proves too difficult. Determined to succeed, Tetsu journeys to Chang Mai, Thailand, to study at a special school for Mahouts. In this challenging new environment, he must master the Thai language, win over skeptical classmates, and tame a wild elephant named Farr. Returning home to Japan, Tetsu aims to establish a sanctuary for elephants. Along the way, he pursues a romance with a local girl named Emi while working to heal his strained relationship with his mother and stepfather.
