In the action-packed martial arts film Shaolin Wooden Men, Jackie witnesses his father's tragic death by a skilled master using an unknown killing technique. Driven by vengeance, Jackie vows to become a Shaolin monk to avenge his father, which is not very Buddhist of him. However, he quickly realizes he is the worst student in the class. His fortunes turn when he befriends a variety of Shaolin masters. Each master teaches Jackie a unique style of kung fu, ranging from the drunken style to the slippery snake technique. With his newly acquired skills, Jackie becomes strong enough to face the ultimate challenge: defeating one hundred wooden men, a rite of passage required for all Shaolin trainees. After successfully beating the wooden men, Jackie goes on a mission to defeat everyone in his path. Ultimately, his journey leads him to discover the true essence of martial arts, showing deep humility and compassion in the end.
