Set Play delves into the grim world of Sungchul, a high school boy carrying the weight of a broken family. With his brother left handicapped by their drunken father and his mother struggling to cope, Sungchul is desperate for money. He forms a cynical partnership with his fellow kijoon, Kijun, to exploit women. Their method is ruthlessly efficient: Sungchul seduces women, then Kijun secretly takes photos for blackmail. Sungchul initiates the emotional distress, and Kijun calms the victim to negotiate for cash, forming a "perfect team." Accustomed to living by his own rules, Sungchul faces devastating betrayal as he approaches adulthood. He discovers his only friend, Yousun, has slept with Kijun, while his mother simultaneously attempts to evict him from their rental apartment, pushing Sungchul to his breaking point.
