"Senyaichiya" follows Tomiko, a resilient middle-aged woman whose life in a declining fishing village revolves around an enduring hope. For thirty long years, she has patiently awaited the return of her husband, who vanished without a trace, dedicating herself to a tireless search. Her solitary existence takes an unexpected turn when she meets Nami, another woman whose husband has also disappeared.

Nami approaches Tomiko, desperately seeking help to get her husband officially recognized on the list of Special Missing Persons. Moved by a shared experience of profound loss and lingering uncertainty, Tomiko agrees to assist Nami, diligently navigating the often-arduous paperwork. However, just as the necessary documents are finally prepared, Nami reveals a sudden change of heart. She decides to abandon the quest, expressing a strong desire to forget her husband and embark on an entirely fresh start. This pivotal moment challenges Tomiko to confront her own three-decade-long vigil and the true meaning of waiting, grief, and moving forward.
