Description:

Saimdang, Light’s Diary is a gripping drama following Seo Ji Yoon, an art history lecturer whose life collapses just as she is about to secure a professorship. After being entrusted by her mentor Min Jung Hak to write a thesis on the historical painting An Gyeons Mount Geumgang, Ji Yoon faces sudden ruin. Her husband, Jung Min Seok, becomes a fugitive fleeing the Russian Mafia, leaving Ji Yoon, her son, and mother-in-law Kim Jung Hee homeless. Soon after, grad student Han Sang Hyun publicly challenges the painting’s authenticity. When Ji Yoon fails to defend Min Jung Hak, she is blacklisted from her field. Desperate, Ji Yoon discovers the secret diary of Shin Saimdang, the famous historical artist. The diary unveils lost truths about Saimdang, her love Lee Gyeom, and the controversial painting. With help from Sang Hyun and antiquities researcher Go Hye Jung, Ji Yoon fights to reclaim her life.
