Sad Love Story, also known as Sad Sonata, is a heart-wrenching romance drama about a tragic love triangle. The story follows Joonyoung, who was raised by a mother selling liquor to American soldiers, and his childhood sweetheart Haein, a blind girl. Their lives diverge when Haein immigrates to the U.S. with her aunt and uncle. There, she meets Gunwoo, a rich man who is Joonyoung’s best friend. Believing Joonyoung is dead after receiving a letter from Hwajung, Haein accepts Gunwoo's love and undergoes a successful operation to restore her sight. The emotional drama intensifies years later when fate brings them all back together. Now working in the music industry, composer Joonyoung, singer Haein, and music producer Gunwoo cross paths once again, testing their bonds of friendship and devotion.
