In the gripping drama Rugged, Fukami Noa, played by Ashida Mana, loves big cars because of her father, Shiro, the owner of Fukami Motors. Her life takes a tragic turn when Shiro suddenly commits suicide. Former detective Katsuragi Ippei reveals that Shiro took his own life to assume responsibility for 300 million yen in missing corporate pensions. The mastermind behind this theft is Kuwata Renji, a sharp investment firm president. Vowing revenge, Noa studies difficult management books, takes over as company president, and promises to recover the stolen money. Although Katsuragi dislikes kids, he agrees to help Noa. They assemble a team of elderly specialists, including former trading employee Kuramochi Eisaku, locksmith Kashima Tokichi, electrical engineer Midorikawa Daimaru, and former actress Miwa Nagisa, to challenge Kuwata in a daring mission.
