Description:

River of Salvation introduces Rong, a meticulous pedicure therapist in a quaint southern Chinese town, whose life is deeply intertwined with her much younger brother, Xiaodong. Nearing adulthood, Xiaodong remains unproductive, lost in video games, while Rong quietly bears a profound secret. Through a series of unexpected challenges and pivotal moments, Xiaodong is compelled to confront his indolence, eventually embarking on a path towards genuine independence. Witnessing this remarkable transformation in her brother, Rong finds the strength to face her own past. She journeys to her northeastern hometown and voluntarily walks into a police station, confessing to a murder committed nineteen years earlier, seeking long-overdue atonement.
