Set in December 1941, the action-packed movie Railroad Tigers 2016 follows a thrilling struggle against occupation. As Japan expands its control into Southeast Asia, the railway from Tianjin to Nanjing in East China becomes a vital military transportation route heavily guarded by Japanese soldiers. Seeking to protect his people, railroad worker Ma Yuan leads a brave team of freedom fighters. Using his deep knowledge of the train network, Ma Yuan and his men execute daring plans to sabotage the railway, ambush Japanese soldiers, and steal essential supplies to feed the starving Chinese population. Although these freedom fighters have no weapons of their own, they utilize whatever everyday tools are at hand, including shovels, loose railway track planks, and diverted trains. Because of their courage and clever tactics, the local Chinese warmly call these unlikely heroes the Railroad Tigers.
