Police Station No. 7 is a gripping 70s ghost drama that begins when policeman Wang Jian discovers the ghost of Huang Yinggu, who has been trapped within the station for over a decade. Yinggu reveals her tragic past: she was wrongfully executed for a murder committed by her nephew, Ye Jiasheng, who heartlessly framed her.

As a ghost, Yinggu's fate intertwines with Jiasheng's affairs once more. She helps her daughter, Sun Minghua, break off with Jiasheng's flirtatious son, Ye Zuguang. When Zuguang later commits a devastating mass murder by arson, Jiasheng ruthlessly frames Minghua. Now an inspector, Wang Jian fights to prove Minghua's innocence and expose Zuguang's guilt. However, Jiasheng, a senior police inspector, is cunning, falsifying evidence and eliminating witnesses to protect his son. Justice eventually prevails when new evidence emerges, Zuguang confesses, and Jiasheng faces a grim end. The series concludes with a subplot where Wang Jian's wife, Baoyan, confronts corruption, leading to a family reunion after her release from jail.
