Poison Berry in My Brain is a unique romantic comedy focusing on Ichiko, a 30-year-old unemployed woman whose life takes an unexpected turn after a chance encounter. While at a drinking establishment, she meets Ryoichi, a much younger man. Despite the age gap, Ichiko finds herself completely unable to forget him, sparking a major internal conflict.

Inside her brain, five distinct characters govern her every action. When her feelings for Ryoichi complicate her life, these five hold a fierce meeting. Yoshida presides over the chaotic discussion as the chairman. Meanwhile, Ishibashi acts as the optimist, while Ikeda counters as the pessimist. Hatoko advocates for living in the moment, and Kishi constantly thinks about the past. Together, this eccentric mental committee must navigate Ichiko's complicated love life.
