Over the Town follows Arakawa Ao, a young man perfectly content with his quiet life in Shimokitazawa. His days are a happy rhythm of working at a vintage clothing shop, catching occasional concerts, and unwinding at his favorite bar, rarely prompting him to explore beyond his cherished neighborhood. This comfortable routine takes an unexpected turn when he receives an unusual request: an invitation to appear in an independent film.

This unforeseen opportunity subtly challenges Ao's settled existence. As he hesitantly steps into the unfamiliar world of filmmaking, he is gradually drawn out of his comfort zone. The process compels him to see his beloved town, and perhaps himself, from a fresh and elevated perspective.
