Omoide Poroporo tells the heartwarming story of Taeko Sugimoto, who moves in with her daughter and granddaughter, beginning a new, lively chapter. As Taeko spends time with her granddaughter, she begins to see reflections of her younger self, sparking a flood of vivid memories from her elementary school days. She recalls the unique taste of her first pineapple, the crushing disappointment of a disastrous math test, and the exhilarating awakening of her acting spirit during a school performance.

These powerful recollections ignite a long-suppressed dream within Taeko: to perform on stage. Inspired, she boldly auditions for a Shakespeare play and dedicates herself entirely to rehearsals. However, just as her lifelong aspiration is about to be realized, the theater scheduled for the performance unexpectedly goes bankrupt. Taeko is once again forced to confront the heartbreaking reality of having to give up on her dream.
