Description:

"Old Rookie" chronicles the challenging journey of Shinmachi Ryotaro, a 37-year-old professional soccer player. After dedicating his life to the sport, even playing for the national team, an injury leads to a decline in his performance, ultimately forcing his retirement from the J3 League. With only soccer experience under his belt, Ryotaro must now pivot to a regular job, a difficult secret to keep from his daughters who are immensely proud of his athletic career. He discovers a new beginning at the sports management company Victory, where he commits to working hard. Yet, emotionally, he struggles to fully accept the end of his playing days. As he endeavors to establish himself in this new professional realm, Ryotaro quickly confronts a significant problem at work, testing his resilience in an unexpected new career.
