In the mountains of South Korea, young Mija lives an idyllic life with her constant companion, Okja, a massive animal and beloved friend. Their peaceful existence is shattered when the Mirando Corporation, a family-owned multinational conglomerate, seizes Okja. The image-obsessed CEO, Lucy Mirando, played by Tilda Swinton, transports the gentle giant to New York with ambitious plans. Determined to save her dearest friend, Mija embarks on a daunting rescue mission. Lacking a concrete plan but driven by single-minded intent, her journey grows exceedingly complex. Mija soon finds herself caught in the crossfire between disparate groups of capitalists, passionate demonstrators, and greedy consumers, all fighting to control Okja's ultimate fate. Amidst the chaos of this global clash, Mija has only one simple goal: to bring her best friend back home safely.
