Thirty-year-old Yuuto Niboshi lives a secluded life in his family's large Japanese house, caring for his ailing grandfather and two beloved cats. His quiet world is upended when his grandfather suddenly dies. Soon after, a real estate representative delivers grim news: most of the family's properties must be sold to cover a hefty inheritance tax, leaving Yuuto without income. She offers a unique proposal to save his home and provide a livelihood: convert it into a cat-friendly share house. For Yuuto, who has never worked and always lived an isolated existence with his feline family, this presents an enormous challenge.
