Other name: 夏子の酒, なつこのさけ, 夏子的酒, Natsuko's Sake, Natsuko’s Sake

Description:

Natsuko's Sake follows Natsuko, a Tokyo advertising copywriter, as her career enters a difficult slump. She decides to return to her family's traditional sake brewery in the peaceful countryside, seeking a break. There, she uncovers her older brother's consuming passion: a search for a legendary phantom rice called tatsunishiki, which he believes holds the key to crafting an extraordinary new sake. He successfully locates the rare seeds, but tragically passes away suddenly, just after Natsuko returns to Tokyo with renewed spirits. Despite finding new professional success in the city, Natsuko makes a life-changing choice. She quits her job, dedicating herself to returning home and continuing her brother's unfinished dream. This initiates a multi-year journey for Natsuko, challenging her to first cultivate the notoriously difficult tatsunishiki rice, and then to painstakingly perfect the intricate brewing process for this unique new sake.
