Mousou Kanojo follows the intriguing life of Takashima Keisuke, a 28-year-old web writer who creates a fake relationship on social media. Using a long hair wig, Keisuke takes romantic photos of himself with his imaginary girlfriend, Haru, earning weird stares from passersby. While his editor, Anzai Kohei, and friend, Kamakura Yuki, observe his bizarre behavior with amazement, Keisuke remains happily detached from reality. Everything changes on the eve of his birthday. After writing down the ideal appearance and personality of his dream girl, Keisuke wakes up the next morning to find Haru physically present in his room. She behaves exactly as he fantasized, giving him a sweet taste of romance. However, this leaves Keisuke with a mind-bending question: is this beautiful situation a miraculous reality, or is it just another deep product of his imagination?
