The indie drama film Moon Young follows the life of a mute young girl named Moon Young, who secretly records the faces of strangers on the subway using her small camcorder. Seeking an escape from her troubled home life and her drunk father, she wanders the streets. One day, she captures footage of Hee Soo, a distraught girl crying over a painful breakup with her boyfriend. When Hee Soo catches Moon Young filming her, an unexpected encounter begins. Instead of anger, a unique connection forms between them. Finding a shared sense of loneliness and kinship, the two girls gradually grow closer and develop a deep bond.
