Mohican Comes Home is a touching comedy-drama about family, failure, and reconciliation. The story follows Eikichi, played by Ryuhei Matsuda, who originally left his quiet hometown in Hiroshima for the bustling streets of Tokyo. He dreamed of achieving success with his music band, but his musical aspirations ultimately failed. Several years later, Eikichi decides to return home to share some life-changing news: his girlfriend is pregnant. His traditional father, Osamu, portrayed by Akira Emoto, reacts with initial anger and curses him out. However, deep down, Osamu is thrilled about becoming a grandfather. To celebrate the upcoming grandchild, Osamu throws a lively party. Tragically, during the celebration, Osamu collapses and is rushed to the hospital. Stricken with worry and guilt, Eikichi desperately struggles to find ways to make his ailing father happy during this difficult time. This heartwarming film beautifully captures the complex but loving relationship between a father and son.
