In the 1980s, Earth faces an overwhelming threat from the malevolent alien race known as the Invaders, bent on global conquest through a barrage of colossal daikaiju and cunning schemes. The dedicated Science Guard Members, SGM, tirelessly investigate this perilous menace. Yet, humanity's greatest hope emerges from an unlikely source: Kyôtarô Kagami, a young photojournalist and foster son of SGM leader, Professor Mitarai.

Professor Mitarai reveals Kyôtarô's incredible secret: he is the half-alien son of the legendary Mirrorman, a superhero from the 2nd Dimension. Both his parents are missing, captives of the Invaders. Though the original Mirrorman was defeated by the Invaders' formidable monster King Zyger, Kyôtarô inherited his namesake's extraordinary powers. Initially resistant to his destiny, Kyôtarô embraces his role after the Invaders attempt to assassinate him, realizing he is Earth's sole defender. To transform into Mirrorman, he must locate a reflective surface, activate his MirrorPendant, and utter the words "Mirror Spark," becoming the hero who can save the planet.
