Maya Sanaeha begins with Chakree's life-altering mistake: a drunken night with his servant Sawarot, which shatters his relationship with longterm girlfriend Monsicha. Overcome by despair, Chakree tragically dies in a drunk driving accident, only to find himself reborn as a roaming spirit, unseen and unheard by the living. Trapped in this ethereal state, he watches as events unfold, soon uncovering a grave secret that threatens to harm those he left behind.
