She aggressively investigates the current president, Ando Koji, regarding the company's failing finances and proposes a drastic restructuring plan involving heavy layoffs and division closures. This spark of corporate ruthlessness triggers an intense backlash among dedicated employees, including Omuro Kojiro, the head of research who has dedicated his life to geothermal science. Driven by her mission to secure profitability, Taeko initially pushes forward. However, as she connects with the workers and understands their vision of creating clean energy for Japan’s future, she begins to realize the true, world-changing potential of geothermal power generation.
