Based on the beloved novel I Want to Eat Your Pancreas by Sumino Yoru and illustrated by loundraw, the emotional drama Let Me Eat Your Pancreas follows Shiga Haruki, a former loner who is now a homeroom teacher at his old school. While organizing the school library collection, a conversation with a student triggers memories of his high school classmate, Yamauchi Sakura. Twelve years earlier, Sakura playfully told Haruki, I want to eat your pancreas, while they were shelving books. This memory leads Haruki back to the moment he accidentally found Sakura’s diary, discovering that the popular girl was secretly suffering from a terminal pancreatic disease. Despite Haruki’s initial reluctance to let anyone close, Sakura chose to spend her final days with him. As Haruki reminisces about their bittersweet time together, he recalls how Sakura gently broke down his walls and changed his life forever, offering a touching story about friendship, grief, and the preciousness of life.
