Description:

Kiri no Hata is a gripping drama that follows Yanagida Kiriko, a young woman living a modest life in Kita Kyushu with her intellectually disabled younger brother, Masao. Their quiet existence is shattered when Masao is falsely accused of murdering a local woman named Kikue. Desperate to save her brother, Kiriko travels to Tokyo to seek help from Otsuka Kinzo, a famous and wealthy lawyer. However, Otsuka refuses the case due to his busy schedule and high fees, choosing instead to go on holiday with his lover, Kouno Michiko. Without proper legal defense, Masao is sentenced to life in prison, where he tragically dies of heat stroke due to abysmal cell conditions. Devastated by the loss and consumed by anger, Kiriko sheds no tears but harbors a deep, seething resentment. She vows to get revenge on the cold-hearted lawyer who turned them away.
