Description:

Kirei no Kuni explores the lives of Eri, a hairdresser in her 40s, and her husband, Hiroyuki, an accountant. They share an outwardly elegant life filled with travel and fine dining. However, Eri secretly battles worries about her aging appearance, a lack of intimacy in their marriage, and the decision to forgo children. While she believes her marriage is perfect, unsettling events begin when a mysterious woman approaches Hiroyuki, pulling the couple into an unbelievable mystery.

Meanwhile, high school friends Rin, Seiya, Reira, Takashi, and Nakayama navigate typical adolescent concerns like burgeoning crushes and self-image. Their world, however, is anything but normal: the vast majority of adults around them possess the exact same face – one man and one woman. These two seemingly disparate narratives converge when Eri and Rin meet at a movie theater, hinting at the profound, unsettling reality of their shared existence in this peculiar country.
