Kioku Sousa is an engaging detective drama following Onizuka Ichiro, played by Kitaoji Kinya. A year ago, while working his final case before retirement at the Shinjuku Higashi Police Precincts First Investigation Section, Onizuka was stabbed by a criminal and lost the use of his legs. Now confined to a wheelchair, his passion for justice remains intact. He is reemployed by the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department and assigned to the Shinjuku Higashi Police Precinct as the head of its Judicial Section. Unable to investigate on foot, Onizuka relies on his vivid memories of the Showa and Heisei periods to crack untouched cases. Working alongside him are his subordinate Toyama Saki, played by Kamishiraishi Mone, and Kami Keitaro, played by Kazama Shunsuke, who was sent from the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Departments First Investigative Division. Together, this team unravels mysteries by connecting the past with the present.
