Based on Hamuro Rin's acclaimed historical novel Ginkan no Fu, Kaze no Toge - Ginkan no Fu is a gripping Japanese historical drama exploring loyalty, duty, and fractured bonds. The story follows Kusakabe Gengo, a dedicated patrol officer of the Tsukigase domain. Gengo's peaceful life is disrupted when his son-in-law, Tsuda Iori, questions his past connection to the domain's chief retainer, Matsuura Shogen. Gengo and Shogen were once inseparable childhood friends who even avenged Shogen's parents together. However, a bitter disagreement over an uprising led by their mutual friend Juzo drove them apart twenty years ago. Now, Gengo receives a secret, devastating command from his lord to assassinate Shogen, who is perceived as an obstacle to the lord's ambitions. To protect the domain's reputation, Gengo must disguise the assassination as a personal grudge match. Facing the ultimate moral dilemma, Gengo visits his estranged friend one last time, setting a tragic fate back into motion as these aging samurai confront their shared past.
