Based on the book Kanata no Ko by Mitsuyo Kakuta, the mystery drama film Kanata no Ko follows Miyako as she participates in a 1 night and 2 days hiking tour of Mount Fuji. Ryoichi Nozawa serves as the guide for the hiking tour team, which consists of Miyako, Shintaro Kondo, Someno Aoyama, and Ai Mitsuke. While hiking through the paths of Mount Fuji, Someno looks back and sees Miyako is crouched down with her hands covering her face. Ryoichi tries to talk to Miyako, but she is completely frozen. Amidst her panic, Miyako sees the faint shape of a person. This eerie encounter triggers a profound psychological shift, and Miyako suddenly realizes that she has a daughter named Natsuki. This gripping film adaptation weaves a haunting tale of lost memories and maternal instincts.
