Houkago Groove follows the life of Makoto Kiryu Rin Takanashi, a young physical education teacher working at a middle school. While she appears to be an ordinary educator, Makoto harbors a rebellious past. During her teenage years, she dropped out of high school and joined a motorcycle gang. After reflecting on her life, she decided to change her ways, successfully entered college, and eventually became a physical education teacher. Although she is exceptionally skilled in sports, Makoto faces a massive challenge when she is forced to teach dance, which is a required subject for her students. Lacking any confidence in dancing, Makoto desperately tries to avoid being noticed by her students to hide her struggle. This entertaining story captures her humorous and relatable journey to survive the school year.
