Description:

Hotel Copain (Hoteru Kopan) is a gripping drama set in a quiet hotel in Hakuba Nagano Prefecture. The story follows Yusuke, a former middle school teacher who quit his job after a severe student bullying incident. After learning that the bullied student tragically committed suicide, a guilt-ridden Yusuke flees his past to work as a secluded employee at Hotel Copain. The hotel is run by Sakuragi, an optimistic owner who dreams of returning the lodge to its glory days during the Nagano Olympics.

When a sudden flurry of guests arrives, an ecstatic Sakuragi decides to host a party. However, Yusuke is thrown into distress when he realizes one of the guests is the mother of the student who died. As the party begins and the guests reveal their own deep personal struggles, Yusuke is forced to confront the tragedy he tried so hard to escape. This emotional film explores guilt, redemption, and the heavy secrets people carry.
