In Hissatsu Shigotonin 2015, Watanabe Shogoro is a seemingly lazy constable who secretly uses his deadly sword skills to execute villains. When a quarrel causes his wife Fuku to leave home, Shogoro fears for her safety after a brutal massacre of runaway wives occurs at a local refuge temple. Meanwhile, assassins Jinpachiro and Omiya arrive in Edo, crossing paths with Shogoro and the disgust-filled picture framer Ryoji. Despite Shogoro sensing a dark conspiracy behind the temple murders, official investigations are halted due to his timid superior, Masumura Rintaro. Soon, a new chief priest, Enten, takes over with the backing of magistrate Edajima Kaneyoshi, raising suspicions from Ryu. As a desperate mother, Oichi, and her daughters Misato and Yui seek shelter at the temple from domestic violence, they walk straight into a sinister trap. Behind the sacred walls lies a horrifying conspiracy designed to ruthlessly exploit vulnerable women, forcing the hidden assassins to step into the shadows once more.
