The workplace drama Heisei Busaiku Salaryman centers on the chaotic daily lives of four underachieving employees working at the West Tokyo branch office of Pakupaku Confectionery. While most of the capable salarymen in the office successfully clinch one business deal after another, this unfortunate quartet experiences the exact opposite. No matter how hard they try, they constantly fail, get scolded by their superiors, and find themselves starting over from scratch.

The struggling group consists of Yoko Wataru, an incompetent senior with awful timing and a stutter; Miyata Toshiya, a naive man who cannot read the room; Nikaido Takashi, a diligent yet short-tempered athletic worker; and Senga Kento, a stylish but easily confused employee. Facing the constant threat of layoffs, these four unlikely colleagues must band together to tackle various challenges inside and outside the company. Will they survive the corporate grind and prove their worth?
