Description:

Harodongseon unfolds in 1997, as former lawmakers, having lost an election, open a restaurant called Harodongseon, envisioning a fresh start. Rumored to be owned by politicians, the eatery initially thrives, but the reality of business quickly bites. A challenging array of customers, from a suspicious monk and a spy-like man to a large autistic child and fussy Gangnam nouveau riche, begins to frequent the establishment. The founders, known as the Harodongseon comrades, who notably opposed the three-party coalition and advocated for the liquidation of three Kims, soon pivot. They plan a return to the political stage for the 1997 presidential election, leaving Kyeong Baek to manage the restaurant solo. As customers replicate political squabbles, using regionalism and current affairs for their loud, daily arguments, Kyeong Baek finds his voice. He delivers a powerful speech to his patrons and the world, questioning the future direction of democracy.
