"Happy Life" follows junior high school student Kiki and her family of five as their world is turned upside down. Initially, their new life in a housing complex brought immense joy, with Kiki and her mother lovingly filling their balcony with vibrant flowers. However, this happiness is tragically cut short when the mother suddenly dies, shattering the family's emotional foundation.

Kiki's father spirals into despair, losing his job and plunging the family into financial hardship. Determined to keep her family afloat, Kiki bravely takes on part-time work arranged by a friend's older brother, all while caring for her younger siblings. The struggle to make ends meet is constant. A glimmer of hope emerges when Kiki witnesses a strange scene involving her former homeroom teacher, Ms. Kozuma. With the teacher's unexpected help, Kiki strives to turn her life around and navigate their challenging circumstances.
